Some of us are way too nice, the first instinct is to help others, a noble virtue however it signals something much deeper.
Do you put everyone else's need above your own?
Would you give away your last dollars to someone else in need and put your own family in a situation of struggling?
Do you sacrifice yourself or do things out of obligation?
Part of my personal development has been to understand it's okay to put you first. I remember a specific time when I was really challenged emotionally and a friend commented, "You need to find your F*#k YOU."
Those words resounded right through every part of me and something just switched.
It doesn't mean I switched in the opposite direction, I still care, I still want to help but not at my own expense.
